STAR Transit announces Driver and Employee of the Year

Terrell, TX – Two individuals were honored last week during STAR Transit’s Employee Appreciation Week.  Dale Wilkins was announced as the 2019 Driver of the Year and Trisha Janicek was announced as the 2019 Employee of the Year.

Nominees for Driver of the Year include Wilkins along with Alice Manning, Patricia Caudle, Cindy Ballard, Jack Burrow, Brock Vawter, Shonda Washington, Steve Branton, John Brown and Donna Parks.

Mr. Wilkins will celebrate his 10th anniversary later this month and drives in DeSoto.  Aaron Reece, Chief Operations Officer said, “Dale is one of the hardest working drivers we have.  Not only is he celebrating his 10th anniversary but also the fact that he has had zero at fault incidents/accidents in that time period as well.  We are all so very proud of him”.

As the recipient of Driver of the Year, Dale receives $1,000.00.

Nominees for Employee of the Year included Janicek along with Shuntreciya Horn, Chelsie Jernigan, Antonio Harris, Shelby Ward, Tommy Henricks, Traci Nixon, Trisha Janicek, Vickie Dabney, Kenyatta Brown, Amalia Meza and Donna Harris.

Trisha celebrated her 5th anniversary in July.  Tommy Henricks, Executive Director said, “Trisha jumps right in where she is needed and does it with the best attitude and smile.  STAR Transit is very thankful to have her.  Congratulations Trisha!”

As the recipient of Employee of the Year, Trisha receives $500.00 and two paid days off.

STAR Transit launched the Employee of the Year and Driver of the Year initiative in September of 2015. These programs aim to recognize outstanding employees we have on our team.
