Seagoville Express FAQ’s

Q: Do you have travel training sessions available for citizen new to using public transportation?
A: Yes. Please contact STAR Transit’s Mobility Management office at 469-474-2400 for more information.

Q: Will I have to pay an additional fare if I use the STAR Transit service to access the Seagoville Express route?
A: There is no transfer fee if you use the STAR Transit service to access the Seagoville Express. The driver of the STAR Transit bus will give you a token to use when you board the Seagoville Express bus.

Q: Where do I find a schedule?
A: Bus schedules are available at the following locations:

  • On the Seagoville Express Bus
  • STAR Transit, 500 Industrial Blvd., Terrell, TX 75160 (M-F, 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.)
  • Seagoville City Hall – 702 US-175 Frontage Rd., Seagoville, TX 75159
  • Online

Q: Where do I wait for the bus?
A: Look for green bus stop signs located along the fixed route. The route served is listed on the sign. Use a hand motion to signal the bus driver at the bus stop. It is a good idea to arrive at your bus stop five minutes before the bus is due to arrive. Ask the bus driver questions about the route, when you get on the bus. They are there to help.

Q: How do I signal to get off the bus?
A: Verbally notify the driver before your desired stop.

Q: How do I notify STAR Transit when I am at the DART Buckner station waiting to be picked up?
A: Call 877-631-5278 before 4:00 p.m. and push 3 to arrange a ride from the DART station. The bus will pick you up at the passenger drop off for non-DART vehicles. The bus will return to the fixed route where you can deboard the bus at the one of the designated stops.

Q: How do I transfer to another bus?
A: If you need to change from the STAR Transit bus to the Seagoville Express bus, ask the bus driver for a free transfer token when you pay your fare. When you change to another bus, give this token to the next bus driver.

Q: Does the Seagoville Express run on holidays?
A: STAR Transit does not operate the Seagoville Express on the following holidays:

New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
4th of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Day after Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

Q: Is the STAR Transit bus on the Seagoville Express route equipped with a bike rack?
A: Yes, the STAR Transit bus operating the Seagoville Express is equipped with a bike rack, as are all DART trains and buses. Click here for more information on loading/unloading your bike.

Q: Are STAR Transit buses ADA compliant?
A: Yes, STAR Transit buses are ADA compliant and can handle all mobility devices.

Q: Are the STAR Transit “red” prepaid tickets accepted on the Seagoville Express?
A: Yes. However, if you use this route to go to the DART Buckner Station, a DART fare is required for travel. Click here for information on DART system passes and fares.

Q: Will STAR Transit honor a FREE DART Jury Duty Day Pass?
A: Yes, we will honor the FREE DART Jury Duty one day pass on the Seagoville Express bus. You will need to present the pass to the driver upon boarding the bus.

Q: Can I access this fixed route if I don’t live in Seagoville?
A: Yes, call 877-631-5278 (M – F, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and schedule a ride to the Creekside of Seagoville and transfer to the Seagoville Express bus.  Speak to an agent for available times outside of Seagoville. Ride must be scheduled at least one business day and no more than two weeks in advance.
