DeSoto Fixed Route 501

Route 501 serves the City of DeSoto, including area industrial parks with stops located at the Kohl’s e-Fulfillment Center and Wal-Mart Distribution. The route also accesses Methodist Charlton Medical Center and the UNT Dallas Station on the DART Rail Blue Line. This route connects DeSoto to cities located in the inland port area with transfer points at The Crossing Shopping Center and the UNT Dallas Station on the Hutchins Shuttle Route 401.
The DeSoto Fixed Route 501 is available to the public. Whether you need transportation to work, a doctor’s appointment, to run errands or you are looking for affordable college bus routes, STAR Transit has you covered.
No reservations are required. There are set pick up and drop off times for this service.
Monday – Friday 4:45 am – 9:36 am 2:45 pm – 6:36 pm
You always pay your fare when boarding the bus, whether you are paying cash or using a STAR Transit red ticket. Please remember drivers do not carry cash, so change will not be given for overpaid fares.
- General Population = $1.00 per boarding
- Exact cash or STAR Transit tickets (One ticket = $1) equaling the fare amount is required each time a customer boards the bus.
- Purchase Tickets
- Qualified Elderly/Veterans/Disabled = No fare
- Riders have to qualify in order to receive the no fare rate.

DART passes are not available on the Hutchins Shuttle Route 401 and the DeSoto Route 501. If you use this route to go to/from the DART UNT station, a DART fare is required for travel on the DART System.
